World Ocean Day: Nurturing Responsibility for a Sustainable Future

“Protect the oceans today to secure tomorrow.”

On the occasion of World Ocean Day, 8th June 2026, Phase 3 students actively engaged in meaningful activities designed to raise awareness about the importance of protecting oceans and conserving water resources. Aligned with this academic year’s Phase Cause, “Water Conservation,” the event served as a timely reminder of our collective responsibility towards safeguarding natural water bodies and adopting sustainable practices.

During the awareness session, students explored the critical role oceans play in maintaining ecological balance, supporting marine biodiversity, regulating climate, and sustaining life on Earth. Discussions highlighted the adverse impact of pollution, particularly plastic waste, and the urgent need for responsible human behaviour to protect marine ecosystems.

Students also took a pledge to use water responsibly and reduce reliance on single-use plastics. Marking a significant step forward, the school officially launched the “Purging Pestering Plastics” campaign. This initiative aims to engage the school community in plastic reduction through collection drives, recycling efforts, and eco-friendly practices.

The celebration successfully inspired students to act as environmentally conscious individuals, reinforcing the belief that every small effort contributes to a healthier planet.
