As part of our Roots & Shoots journey, our students Muhammad Adeel, Rameen, Muhyiudeen, Yusuf, Muhsin and Mahira explored how STEM, environmental responsibility, community service, and innovation can help create positive change.
Exploring the Past Responsibly
Through the FIRST LEGO League UNEARTHED season, our students explored archaeology and investigated how soil layers, excavation techniques, and artifacts can help us understand human history.
The students also reflected on an important question:
How can we explore what lies beneath our feet while respecting and minimizing unnecessary disturbance to the surrounding soil and landscape?
Using research, hands-on learning, and engineering thinking, they explored responsible and safer excavation methods and designed ideas for the safer handling and transportation of fragile artifacts.
Creating Innovation from Recycled Materials
Sustainability was major part of the process
Students reused cardboard and other available recycled materials to create awareness posters and develop their innovation ideas. Rather than immediately purchasing new resources, they explored how materials that might otherwise be discarded could be given a new purpose.
Through this process, students learned that:
- Innovation does not always require new or expensive materials.
- Reusing resources can reduce unnecessary waste.
Simple materials can become powerful tools for creativity and problem-solving.
Winning- Best Poster Award 🥇 (Best Innovation project) in the competition
Sharing Knowledge
Muhammad Adeel volunteered to teach coding to the entire team for 3 months Sharing his knowledge and using his skills to build confidence in others .
Our Impact
This experience taught our students that being a changemaker is not about having more resources,it is about using what we have wisely, thinking responsibly, solving problems creatively, and sharing what we know.
Through research, reuse, innovation, and service, they are learning to care for the Earth while helping others grow.
