Sustainable food solutions are best learned early, and at SISAD, we believe that habits formed in childhood last a lifetime. Teaching children to grow their own food helps them understand where food comes from and builds a deep respect for nature.
Our little ones proved that no effort is too small when it comes to caring for the Earth. With great enthusiasm, they brought organic kitchen waste such as fruit and vegetable peels from home to create compost for the school garden. Through this hands-on experience, children learned that what we often call “waste” can be transformed into something valuable.
Composting helps young children understand the natural cycle of growth, reuse, and renewal. It nurtures responsibility, patience, and care for the environment while encouraging eco-friendly habits. Most importantly, it empowers children to become mindful citizens who know that their small actions can create a big impact.
By turning kitchen waste into nutrient-rich compost, our young gardeners are not just growing plants—they are growing awareness, responsibility, and a greener future.
