SCS - Year Six Create Structures Using Recycled Cardboard

Year Six pupils have been exploring creativity and sustainability through an exciting art project using recycled cardboard. As part of their learning, the children were challenged to design and build three dimensional structures while reusing materials that might otherwise have been thrown away. This project gave pupils the opportunity to combine artistic skills with environmental awareness in a practical and engaging way.

Using recycled cardboard, the children carefully planned, designed and constructed a wide range of impressive structures. They experimented with shape, balance and stability, learning how different forms could be joined and strengthened. Throughout the process, pupils developed important skills such as problem solving, teamwork and perseverance, especially when their designs needed adapting or improving.

The finished structures demonstrated a high level of creativity and imagination. Each piece was unique, reflecting individual ideas and thoughtful design choices. From tall towers to detailed architectural forms, the variety of outcomes showed just how versatile recycled materials can be when used creatively.

This project also helped pupils understand the value of reusing materials and the positive impact this can have on the environment. By working with recycled cardboard, Year Six learned that art does not always require new resources and that sustainable choices can still produce exciting and high quality results.

Well done to Year Six for their hard work and enthusiasm throughout this project. Their impressive structures are a wonderful example of how creativity and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand, and they have set a great example for the rest of the school.
