QAS collaborated with Gems Legacy School to create Food waste Awareness.

On the Oct 16, The World Food Day, QAS collaborated with Gems Legacy School to create awareness about the importance of not wasting food.

The theme for this year’s World Food Day was “right to foods for a better life and better future”. We discussed about various actions that the students can take to reduce food wastage. We also discussed about the importance of buying local to reduce food miles and how food waste contributes to global warming.

The sustainability coordinator at QAS had an engaging session with the students about the factors that determine the availability of food, which are- costs, conflicts and supply chain disruption. These factors were beautifully explained with examples from across the globe. The students found the session very engaging and had some queries which will be discussed in the next session. Please find the video here.
