SISAD KG1's Little Farmers’ Sabzi Mandi ..

Little Farmers’ Sabzi Mandi ..

Our Kindergarten blossomed into a colourful and lively Little Farmers’ Market, where learning came alive through play, exploration, and hands-on experiences!

The day was warmly inaugurated by our Principal and Vice Principals, making the celebration even more special for our young learners. Each KG1 class was assigned a different vegetable, and the school was transformed into a vibrant marketplace filled with colourful vegetable stalls, shopping counters, and a cash counter.

Dressed as their favorite vegetables, our little learners explored leafy, root, stem, and bulb vegetables, discovering their names and health benefits. With paper AED 1 play coins in hand, they selected their vegetables, made thoughtful choices, and practiced the simple steps of choosing, buying, and paying.

The market also encouraged children to take turns, communicate confidently, follow rules, and interact with their peers. Some learners proudly shared interesting facts about their vegetables, building their vocabulary and speaking skills along the way.

The experience beautifully connected learning with SDG 2 – Zero Hunger by promoting healthy eating and appreciation for fresh produce, and SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production by encouraging mindful choices and buying only what was needed.

From colourful stalls to cheerful vegetable costumes, the Little Farmers’ Market was a joyful celebration of healthy choices, responsible habits, confidence, and learning through play!
