A visit to Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital

The first field trip of Verte (Eco club) for the year 2017-18 was organized on 22nd October, 2017. Forty enthusiastic students along with Tr. Megha Baskey, Tr. Sonal Srivastava and Sr. Suneeti started their educative journey to Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital. The excursion is designed to facilitate a connection between the students and the UAE National Bird.

After a warm welcome, the visit started with a talk from Mr. Hassam on the history of the hospital and falcon facts. Our students got the insight in falcon registration and their unique falcon passports. Then it was time for a guided tour to a large clinical examination room with multiple, advanced anesthetic equipment where minor procedures for falcons can be done.

After learning about falcons, our students headed to Abu Dhabi Animal shelter which is a house of large numbers of beautiful stray or surrendered cats and dogs. An interesting dog show was arranged. Students were taught that through training and shared activities, owners and their dogs better understand and respect each other, develop stronger relationships, and truly enjoy playing, working and living together.

The highlight of the tour was a unique memory for our students when they got the opportunity to click photos with the majestic falcons sitting on their arm.

It was an amazing and informative field trip.
