Roots & Shoots UAE members took part in a meaningful mangrove planting activity on Jubail Island, Abu Dhabi, on 15 May 2026. The initiative brought together young environmental advocates who were eager to contribute to local conservation efforts and learn more about the importance of coastal ecosystems.
During the session, participants explored the vital role mangrove forests play in protecting shorelines, supporting biodiversity, and capturing carbon. They then had the opportunity to plant mangrove saplings, directly contributing to the restoration and preservation of these valuable habitats. The activity encouraged hands-on environmental action while empowering young people to become active stewards of nature.
