SCS desert clean up in collaboration with Simply Bottles
To make a difference in our wider community, some Safa Community School students embarked on a desert clean up mission with the support of Simple Bottles! Our Eco Warriors embarked on a journey out into the desert and to their shock they found huge amounts of careless waste littering the sand and damaging animal habitats.
The students were in dismay at the mountains of single use plastic including bottles and bags that littered the area as well as the large volume of cigarette butts; a sure sign of the devastating impact us humans can have on the environment. We children worked tirelessly to collect 8 large bags of rubbish and to restore the area back to its natural beauty.
Did you know that plastic pollution is not just visible in our deserts but lethal; it is the cause of at least 1% of all camel deaths in the UAE! SCS pledges to continue to help make a difference and to make our community pollution free!
