Grade 8 students went to Education City cooling plant and stadium to learn about ways in which they were reusing water to cool the whole district. The Education City stadium also had so many sustainable elements which the students linked to their unit on Industrial revolution in Individuals and societies. This trip was conducted in connection with Qatar Sustainability Week activities opening doors for Service As Action opportunities.
Just like the Industrial Revolution brought new technologies and changed the way cities looked, Education City shows how modern developments can focus on sustainability.
The students learned how the stadium and surrounding areas have been designed with the environment in mind, helping them understand how cities can grow in a way that balances progress with protecting the planet.
