Vet Visit – by Aya & Luce

Yesterday (December 11, 2024), Dr. Erik and Ms. Caroline from 2Feet4Paws Veterinary Clinic in Dubai came to our school to talk about tortoises and a little bit about turtles. They visited to help us with Pedro, a sulcata tortoise who is going to be our new school pet!

One of the students found Pedro in their yard, and now our unit of inquiry project is all about rehoming him at school. We’ve been researching important topics like what plants he can eat, the activities he needs, how to manage risks, and how to create the best environment for him.

The vets listened to our ideas and gave us great feedback on our projects. They also taught us how to care for Pedro and how to tell if a tortoise is a boy or a girl. They even shared their experiences and answered all our questions.

In the end, we think everyone enjoyed the visit and learned so much!
