We are always exploring new ways to fertilize our plants. We have used food waste, garden waste, and by-products of our composting to nourish the soil in our community garden.
Here is an overview of what we have tried so far;
- `Banana skins soaked in water
- Coffee grounds and eggshells
- Coffee grounds sprinkled onto soil
- Grinding eggshells is a popular activity in our garden
- Ground eggshells sprinkled around plants
- Ground eggshells mixed with vinegar
- Eggshells and vinegar diluted with water
- Worm castings
- Worm tea made from worm castings
- Compost made in our tumbler and compost bin
- Aloe vera blended with water
- Aloe vera donations are common from families
- Bokashi tea diluted in water
