Learning about the importance of pollinators.

At QAS, we have guards, cucumbers and Zucchini growing in our vegetable garden. Our students learned about monoecious and dioecious flowers when the cucurbits and Zucchini flowered. We also saw some bees pollinating the female flowers after they visited the male flowers carrying pollen all over their body. We had a discussion about the importance of pollinators in sustaining the life on our planet.
