As one of the inaugural activities, GAA Roots & Shoots organised a beach clean-up on February 27th. We found lots of plastic in various forms (bottles, bags, caps, etc.), empty snack packets, and TONS of cigarette butts. These are particularly bad for the birds and fish as it is not digest-able and bloats the stomachs so that the animal dies of starvation.
Our next beach clean up will be on Saturday, June 4th at 5:00pm! Come help us clean up!
