Our new worm farm is a source of intrigue, joy and ongoing fascination for our students. Feeding the worms, watching them grow, discovering new babies and naming them sparks endless discussion and curiosity.
The worm farm reminds us of the power of hands-on engagement with nature to inspire and drive interactions and deep learning. For one of our Grade 2 students, Aida, the worms have truly become muses for her art and writing.
What started as a few scribbles during an afternoon gardening session, has become a growing collection of drawings, stories and texts that she calls her ‘worm project’. We can’t wait to see where her creativity and interest in the worms takes her.
