Protecting our fragile coastlines by planting mangrove trees

Jubail Island in Abu Dhabi has launched an initiative to plant mangrove trees to expand its mangrove forest, support local communities, and contribute to the UAE’s objective of planting 100 million mangrove trees. ACS students had the opportunity to explore the mangroves using kayaks, observe wildlife, and connect with nature. In addition to planting baby mangroves, students also learned about the importance of mangrove trees in protecting coastlines, their resilience to harsh conditions, and their role in addressing climate change.
