Last week 12 of our children went to New York University on Sadiyaat Island for a very exciting morning, meeting Jane Goodall. They brought lots of photographs and things they have been making to make a display to show everyone. They had information booklets about chimpanzees, instruments made from recycled materials, reusable bags, videos and an amazing PowerPoint about our environment. The rugs that Year 5 made using recycled plastic bags were a huge hit too! The children were incredible at explaining to everyone all about what we do at Al Muna School and answering lots of questions. Zainab and Lian sang a song on the stage for Jane to wish her a happy 80th birthday, and they were given a trophy and even their very own Mr H! Mr Howsen our head teacher was particularly thrilled as he is Mr H too! Of course the highlight was meeting Jane herself, what a fantastic day!
Hopefully, we now have a few aspiring environmentalists and ethologists at Al Muna Primary School!
