The Terra Pavilion at Expo City Dubai recently buzzed with enthusiasm as schools from across the UAE gathered to showcase their eco-initiatives at the Roots & Shoots UAE Awards 2024. Sponsored and hosted by Expo City Dubai, this event provided a platform for schools to present their impactful projects.
Our awarded schools included Clarion School, Dubai, JESS School, Dubai, The Indian Academy, Dubai, Al Ittihad National Private School-Khalifa, Abu Dhabi, Muna British Academy, Abu Dhabi, Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Bangladesh Islamia School, Abu Dhabi, Delhi Private School, Sharjah, Gems Cambridge International Private School, Sharjah, and Qatar Academy Sidra.
Each of these schools set up stands to exhibit their innovative environmental efforts, from implementing bokashi composting to creating community gardens and engaging in native tree restoration.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all these schools for their efforts in creating videos and displays that beautifully showcased their hard work and dedication to environmental stewardship.

A standout moment during the event was Dr. Jane Goodall’s heartfelt interactions with students at each stand, where she witnessed the passion and dedication of the young change-makers. Dr. Jane also took the opportunity to share words of wisdom during a special talk with the students. Her encouragement inspired them to persist in their efforts and strive for a positive impact on the environment.
