Dr Jane Goodall’s visit to UAE in January 2015 certainly got the local media buzzing! There were stories in The National before she even arrived as well as plenty of coverage of her trip once she got here. The National also ran a profile of Jane and her life studying chimpanzees, and Emirates 24|7 talked to her about the Roots & Shoots programme and her life working in conservation. Our very own American Community School also put together a brilliant account of Jane’s visit.
As well as meeting the Roots & Shoots schools, while she was in UAE Dr Jane also found time to speak out about the problem of families taking in exotic animals as pets. This story was reported in Gulf News, Al Bawaba and also the UK’s BBC. She also praised the conservation efforts ongoing in UAE as reported on WN.com and The National.
