Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots Wins <br>International Green Apple Award

London UK – Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots programme won its third Green Apple Award in the UK on Monday 10th November at a prestigious event in the House of Commons.

The award was presented by the Chief Executive of The Green Organisation, which recognises both companies and charities who have made an outstanding contribution to the environmental sector. Roots & Shoots won a Silver International Award for our newly established pilot programme in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.  Tara Golshan (Executive Director, Education) who attended the event, said:

This award was unexpected and inspiring as we have only just begun to lay the groundwork in Abu Dhabi with seven pilot schools and one university but it is already having a significant impact on local education and more importantly sustainable practice in the UAE”.

The projects were described and commended to an audience from both the private and public sector who had flown in from around the globe.
