Woodlem Park School Dubai is proud to contribute to a brighter future, not only through education but also by making a positive impact on the world around us. As part of our commitment to social responsibility, the school recently participated in the “Donate Your Own Device” (DYOD) initiative, in collaboration with The Digital School, a program under the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives.
Our school played an active role in this campaign, contributing 23 electronic devices, including laptops, tablets, and smartphones. These devices went directly to students in need, empowering 56 children with the tools necessary to pursue their education in today’s digital age. Through this effort, we were not only able to help bridge the education gap but also took significant steps toward environmental conservation.
By participating in this initiative, Woodlem Park School contributed to reducing 18 kg of carbon dioxide emissions, saved 5.04 cubic feet of landfill space, and conserved 25.92 liters of oil, along with 86.4 kWh of electricity. The initiative demonstrates how recycling and repurposing technology can create a ripple effect, benefiting both the planet and those in need.
In line with our school’s vision, we believe that even the smallest actions can create a meaningful impact on the world. This campaign was a testament to our collective power when our school community—students, parents, and teachers—come together for a common cause.
We look forward to continuing our efforts in supporting such noble causes. Woodlem Park School encourages every member of our community to join hands in similar initiatives that reflect our shared values of responsibility, sustainability, and empathy. Together, we can make a difference, one action at a time.
