Pristine Model United Nations – Call for Collective Action

The Pristine Model United Nations (PrisMUN) Team was honoured to, yet again, organise and host the 9th annual PrisMUN Conference, from the 2nd of February – 4th of February 2024. This conference gathered over 180 passionate and talented student delegates from various schools in the local community. This year’s theme for the 3-day conference was – Call for Collective Action. A call to bring about the voices of the youth together to address global concerns. A call for unity, implementation, and representation.

This year’s, PRISMUN was an odyssey of ideas, a celebration of diversity, and a platform for delegates to unleash their diplomatic prowess. In the spirit of innovation, PRISMUN’24 introduced unique committee simulations, engaging workshops, and a social event that made the experience unforgettable.

At the opening ceremony we had Mr. Abdul Muqeet, as the keynote speaker. Mr. Muqeet is the UNICEF Climate Change Youth Advocate, environmentalist and recipient of the Abu Dhabi Award as well as the Princess Diana Award, who inspired the delegates to engage in Call to Action.

What ensued was a 3-day conclave where students debated on pertinent issues such as the urgent challenge of the climate-induced displacement of refugees to addressing the environmental impacts of the Syrian civil war. From tackling the Myanmar Civil War and Rohingya genocide to addressing Mental Health in Conflict Zones, across 8 different committees – DISEC, WHO, UNEP, UNSC, ICJ, UNHCR, UNHSC, CRISIS & UNCA.

PrisMUN, which began in 2015 as a school-wide student-led initiative, has grown to host discussions enriched not only by Pristine’s spirited student body but also by delegates from schools across the country and around the world.
