WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 2025

Environment Day: World Environment Day 2025 was celebrated at Mayoor with
great enthusiasm and awareness. The theme ‘Beat Plastic Pollution’ inspired
students and teachers alike to take positive steps toward protecting and restoring
our environment. The Environment Day activities across Grades 1 to 5 served as
more than just celebrations — they were meaningful learning experiences that
encouraged students to connect with nature, understand sustainability, and
become responsible global citizens. Through fun, creativity, and critical thinking
activities like growing microgreens, making pen stands out of waste, recycling
relay races, making tote bags from old T-shirts and Debate on Climate Change,
students realized that even small actions can contribute to a greener planet. The
teamwork, and enthusiasm shown throughout reflected their growing sense of
ownership toward environmental protection. On Environment Day, our kindergarteners learned
about the importance of keeping our Earth clean by ending plastic pollution. They discovered how plastic can harm animals and nature.
The students enjoyed fun activities that showed them how to reduce, reuse and
recycle plastic to help protect our planet. Together, they are becoming little heroes
who care for the Earth! As part of Environment Day celebrations, Mayoor Private School, in collaboration
with Avid Learning, conducted a five-day interactive Sustainability Workshop for

students of Grades 6 to 8 on May 23, 26, 28, 30, and June 2, 2025. Led by eco-
advocate Ms. Anu Ganesan, the sessions focused on composting and the

preparation of eco-friendly cleaners using kitchen waste. To extend the impact,
Grade 8 student leaders later shared their learning with Grade 9 students.
