Date: 25th April 2025
Venue: Al Saad Indian School, Al Ain
As part of our school’s commitment to promoting environmental awareness and sustainable practices among young learners, Tadweer (The Center of Waste Management – Abu Dhabi) conducted a series of enriching workshops on 25th April 2025 at Al Saad Indian School, Al Ain.
1. Awareness Workshop on Waste Management (Grades 3–5)
The first session, attended by students of Grades 3 to 5, focused on spreading awareness about waste management and the importance of reduce, reuse, and recycle principles. Through interactive discussions, visual presentations, and real-life examples, students were educated on:
- Types of waste and their segregation
- The environmental impact of improper waste disposal
- Everyday actions they can take to contribute to a cleaner planet
The session sparked curiosity and concern among the students, who actively participated and shared their thoughts on making their school and homes more sustainable.
2. Creative Workshop: Decorative Items Using Recyclables (Grade 5)
The second session, tailored for Grade 5 students, was a hands-on workshop where students created decorative items using recyclable materials. This engaging activity aimed to:
- Foster creativity while promoting sustainability
- Encourage rethinking of “waste” as potential resource
- Build practical awareness of upcycling
Under the guidance of the Tadweer facilitators, students used discarded materials like paper rolls, plastic containers, and old magazines to make pen stands, wall hangings, and plant holders.
The event was a great success, inspiring young minds to act responsibly and creatively toward protecting the environment.
