Waste To Wow – Sustainability Competition @ Mayoor

Sustainability, ensuring the future of life on Earth, is an infinite game, the endless expression of generosity on behalf of all.

The Science Department of Mayoor Private School successfully hosted the ‘Waste to Wow!’ Sustainability Competition, engaging students from grades 6 to 12 in an exciting showcase of creativity and sustainable practices. The event aimed to promote environmental awareness by encouraging innovative use of waste materials. Students participated either individually or in groups, presenting their projects based on specific themes assigned to each grade.

Participants sourced their own waste materials, adhering to the competition’s focus on recycling and upcycling. The projects, which included both models and working prototypes, were presented during the event. Students explained their concepts, showcasing their creativity and understanding of sustainable practices.

Projects were evaluated based on creativity, sustainability, presentation quality, societal impact, and innovative recycling approaches. Submission deadlines were May 25th for grades 6-9 and May 30th for grades 10-12. The competition provided a valuable platform for students to devise impactful solutions, demonstrating their commitment to sustainability and innovation.
