This weekend, several students from the American Community School of Abu Dhabi participated in a hands-on TNR (Trap, Neuter, and Return) certification workshop at Animalia. The experience began with a guided tour of the clinic and shelter, where participants learned about the wide range of services Animalia provides to support animal welfare in the community.
The workshop then focused on understanding the importance of TNR in managing street cat populations in a humane and sustainable way. Participants learned key statistics related to stray cats, how to check whether a cat is microchipped, and the essential materials and techniques needed for safe and effective trapping. To reinforce their learning, they practiced trapping under supervision using a shelter cat.
The workshop concluded with each participant receiving a certificate of completion, equipping them with practical skills and knowledge to support animal welfare efforts in their community.
