Tidying the garden

Last week, our Grade 4 students worked together to tackle a number of long overdue tasks in the school garden.

Students worked to remove dead vines and trees, remove cover crops and prepare beds for planting. They pulled down old trellises to make space for new ones, cleaned and sorted bokashi buckets, and moved pots and rubbish from the garden. Dead plants were removed from pots and the soil was saved for soil factories and other plants. Our leaf mold is now filled with leaves ready for composting and a poster on the noticeboard indicates that the growing season is upon us.

Students’ enthusiasm for their tasks was impressive and together they achieved a lot in a short period of time. Thank you Grade 4!
