In response to the devastating floods and mudslides in Sri Lanka, families at the American Community School of Abu Dhabi came together in a collective effort to support displaced families who were forced from their homes. Recognizing the urgent need for basic necessities, students, families, and staff mobilized quickly to provide meaningful assistance to those affected by the disaster.
Through a coordinated donation drive, we collected numerous bags of clothing and shoes, ensuring items were clean, usable, and suitable for people of all ages. Once collected, the donations were carefully organized and shipped to Sri Lanka, where they were distributed to flood survivors in need. These supplies helped provide comfort, dignity, and relief during a time of immense hardship, offering practical support as families worked to rebuild their lives.
This initiative not only addressed an immediate humanitarian need but also strengthened our community’s commitment to service and solidarity. It served as a powerful reminder that collective action, even from afar, can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those facing crisis.
