Our students successfully received top scores in the SeaPerch underwater robot competition in the United Arab Emirates, earning the opportunity to travel to Maryland, USA, for the world championships. In this exciting competition, teams navigate their robots through an intricate obstacle course, completing specific tasks within a set time limit. The underwater robot, designed and built by five tech students at the American Community School of Abu Dhabi, serves as a hands-on educational tool to promote STEM subjects while fostering sustainable practices.
Robots like SeaPerch play a crucial role in environmental conservation, as they are capable of retrieving debris from the ocean floor, thereby protecting delicate ecosystems. This initiative not only enhances students' technical skills but also encourages them to think critically about sustainability and their impact on the environment. Through this experience, our students are empowered to become innovative problem-solvers dedicated to preserving our planet.
