One Root One Communi – Tree Project

 

Project Goal:

To reduce the school’s environmental footprint by implementing effective waste management practices and encouraging student participation in recycling initiatives.

 

One root-One communi- tree project organized by EEG Dubai undertaken by the students of Science and Eco Club of Al Saad Indian School, Al Ain, UAE, aimed at collecting plastic, e-waste, and paper waste within the school campus. The project was designed to promote environmental awareness among students and reduce the school’s overall waste footprint.

 

Project Objectives:

  1. Raise awareness: Educate students and staff about the importance of waste reduction, recycling, and proper waste disposal.
  2. Reduce waste: Minimize the amount of waste generated by the school through various strategies, such as reducing consumption, reusing materials, and composting.
  3. Implement recycling: Establish efficient recycling systems for various waste streams, including paper, plastic, aluminum, and e-waste.
  4. Foster student engagement: Encourage active student participation in waste management activities and create a sense of environmental responsibility.

 

Expected Outcomes:

  • Increased student awareness and participation in recycling and waste reduction efforts.
  • Positive environmental impact through reduced waste disposal and increased recycling.
  • A more sustainable and eco-friendly school environment.

 

Conclusion

The school-based plastic, e-waste, and paper waste collection project undertaken by the Science and Eco Club of Al Saad Indian School, Al Ain, UAE, has made a positive impact on the school’s environmental sustainability. By engaging students and promoting responsible waste management, the project has helped to reduce the school’s waste footprint and create a more environmentally friendly learning environment.
