Bird Feeder Activity - WORKSHOP BY GRADE 11 STUDENTS

Date:
8th May

Venue:

Al Saad Indian School, Al Ain

Introduction

On 8th May, a large-scale bird feeder activity was organized at Al Saad Indian School, Al Ain, spearheaded by Grade 11 students—Abhiram, Tanmay, Tanishq, and Abhinav—in collaboration with the Science and Eco Club and the organization WE HOPE. This eco-conscious event aimed to foster awareness about avian welfare and conservation among the student community.

Demonstration and Implementation

A demonstration of how to create eco-friendly bird feeders was conducted at the school. Students were taught to use recycled materials such as plastic bottles, cartons, and coconut shells to construct feeders. These were then filled with grains and clean water. Following the demonstration, students prepared their own feeders and installed them at their respective homes.

Participation and Outreach

The event witnessed overwhelming participation, with almost all our students actively involved. These students placed their handmade bird feeders at their home. That means different locations across Al Ain, significantly amplifying the initiative's environmental impact and geographical reach.

Collaboration and Support

The activity was supported wholeheartedly by the Science and Eco Club and the social organization WE HOPE. The guidance and encouragement provided by the school faculty and club coordinators greatly contributed to the seamless execution of the event.

Outcomes and Impact

The bird feeders quickly began attracting local bird species, serving both as feeding stations and observation points for students to connect with nature. This initiative not only raised awareness but also empowered students to take actionable steps in environmental preservation from their own homes.

Conclusion

This bird feeder activity stands as a remarkable example of youth-led ecological responsibility. The initiative demonstrated how collective small actions, when multiplied, can lead to meaningful environmental change. The involvement of our students in this underscores the strong spirit of unity and purpose that Al Saad Indian School promotes through such community-centric programs.
