As part of our homeschool science class, Josie and the other students have been studying marine food webs, learning about the importance of every species, large and small, to a functioning eco-system. Last week we visited the jubail mangroves to do an ecological survey, before learning about each species and constructing our own food web. This was impactful learning for the youths as they realised that plants and animals that we normally walk past without any thought are in fact key parts of the whole.
