HENA’s Global Citizens spent the morning of January 14th cleaning up the mangroves. We collected 11 sacks full of garbage! It mostly consisted of plastic in the form of grocery bags, other types of bags, food containers, lids and bottle caps and straws. After seeing the sheer amount of garbage that floats into the mangroves on the tides, the Global Citizens said they would gladly make a pledge to work on reducing their family’s use of plastic, especially single-use items like grocery bags and straws. Good work, Global Citizens!
