This year, Roots & Shoots UAE is celebrating the incredible marine biodiversity of the UAE. Our focus goes beyond the waters, exploring the ecosystems that surround and depend on them—mangroves, coastal birds, and the unique flora and fauna that call the UAE’s coasts home. Through our outreach programs, we’re sparking meaningful action to protect and restore these vital environments. Our Bahri Marine Roots Program, which launched in November, is a perfect example of experiential learning tied to this year’s theme.
We’re calling on all members to embrace this theme with passion and creativity. Consider the challenges facing marine biodiversity and find innovative solutions. Whether it’s restoring mangroves, raising awareness about endangered coastal species, or developing strategies to combat marine pollution, we urge you to make your projects truly stand out. Member schools participating in the 2025 Awards Ceremony will work on projects aligned with this theme, and we challenge YOU to showcase your efforts under the theme by submitting your pieces through Mission Updates.
Together, we can make a powerful impact and highlight the importance of protecting the UAE’s coastal and marine ecosystems. Your unique projects will amplify the Roots & Shoots mission and celebrate the natural heritage of the UAE.
