🌿 On September 21st, Roots & Shoots UAE celebrated International Peace Day with a meaningful and inspiring event in Abu Dhabi. Hosted at The Bridge Lifestyle Hub, the day was filled with reflection, learning and action as we honored the importance of peace in our world. Given the state of our world today, it seems more important than ever that we focus on the importance of peace and instill its inherent values in the next generation.

- Documentary Screening: Jane Goodall: An Inside Look 🎬
We kicked off the event with a special screening of Jane Goodall: An Inside Look, a powerful documentary that follows Dr. Jane Goodall’s incredible journey as a champion for conservation, animal welfare and peace. The documentary focused on Jane’s initial journey to Gombe on her first research expedition and follows live footage from 1960 where Jane, just 26 years old, explores a world of chimpanzees which would soon be her life’s work and subsequent legacy as one of the greatest conservationists of our time.
- Peace Poster Activity ✍️
In the spirit of promoting peace and unity, we set up a Peace Poster, where attendees were invited to share their thoughts, hopes and messages for peace. The poster quickly filled up with heartfelt contributions, from personal reflections to global calls for harmony and compassion. 🕊️
Messages ranged from “Peace means working together” to “peace begins by doing justice to the Earth” This collaborative artwork now serves as a lasting reminder of our collective commitment to peace, displayed proudly at the venue, and of course in our mission, for a better future for our planet. 💫
