As a part of Qatar Sustainability Week celebrations, we had harvest festival at QAS. We harvested ridge guards, chillies, aubergines, lady’s finger and rocket. The harvest was distributed to the eco committee members. We discussed about food miles and why it is important to grow and buy local food. The rocket was harvested from the tower garden in the school where we grow food aeroponically. The vegetables are irrigated from water recycled from the tank below. The tower garden is an efficient way to grow food indoors.
