Welcoming our new CEO

We are delighted to announce that Corinna McShane joined the Jane Goodall Institute UK as CEO in May 2021, covering all aspects of our work from supporting community led conservation projects and chimpanzee sanctuaries in Africa, to empowering young people to become compassionate changemakers through our Roots & Shoots school programmes in the UK and UAE.

Prior to joining JGI UK, Corinna held a number of senior leadership roles including Campaigns Director at the BBC and Global Head of Communications & Marketing for The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award across 140 countries. Corinna’s lifelong passion for wildlife conservation particularly primates, was fuelled by childhood membership of Durrell in Jersey where she grew up.

Corinna has an MSc (Distinction) in ‘Climate Change Impacts & Sustainability’. She has over ten years Board Trustee/Chair experience with the Sumatran Orangutan Society (protecting orangutan habitat through community-based initiatives such as forest restoration, conservation education and agroforestry) and Mayhew (improving the lives of dogs, cats and communities in London, Afghanistan and Georgia). Corinna is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, and an Associate Member of the Institution of Environmental Sciences.
