BHAVAN’S NATURA-STUDENTS’ INITIATED COMMUNITY OUTREACH,2018-19
NO TO PLASTIC CAMPAIGN
Our young anti-plastic crusaders went on a rally to create an awareness on the hazardous issues caused to the environment by the use of plastic. Hundreds of students, both boys and girls, carrying placards with powerful slogans exhorted the onlookers to stop using plastic. The messages were vociferously voiced out throughout the campus. The drive, which was carried out for two weeks, was initiated based on one of the sustainability goals (Reuse-Reduce-Recycle) of Bhavan’s Natura, eco club of Private International English School Abu Dhabi in partnership with EEG (Emirates Environmental Group). This was followed by an ‘I pledge No to Plastic’ campaign which involved student, parent, teaching and non-teaching communities. The plastic bottle and can collection campaign was another task involved in this drive. This campaign witnessed a wide outreach and fetched hundreds of plastic bottles and cans into the campus. The SSI coordinator Ms. Usha Kumari addressed the gathering and appreciated the initiative of the campaigners. The assembly dispersed on a staunch note of minimalisation of plastic use.
