Grade 7 students went on a field trip to Hadiqaa micro farm and reflected on how sustainable farming practices contributed to healthier ecosystems. The students will reflect on how efficient usage of water will contribute to sustainable agriculture, why it is important to measure plant growth and how to efficiently use land to increase productivity of crops.
Students will then create a presentation on the future of farming in Qatar, using insights from their visit to Hadiqaa indoor farm. During the visit, they observed sustainable farming practices such as hydroponics, water conservation, and organic growth methods. These observations will help them explore how innovations like vertical farming, renewable energy, and advanced irrigation techniques can be applied to Qatar’s agricultural challenges. The presentation should explain how these methods can improve food security and reduce reliance on imports, with direct examples from the farm visit.
