World Environment Day @ Mayoor – From Pre-KG all the way up to Grade 12, teachers and students celebrated World Environment Day with a range of engaging activities, all in line with the year’s empowering slogan: “Our Land. Our Future. We are #GenerationRestoration.” To further their commitment to the environment, the school implemented a “zero plastic campus” initiative, fostering a sustainable culture among both students and staff.
These included creating butterfly pencil holders from reused tissue rolls, making bags from old newspapers and cereal boxes, and crafting pen holders and sand clock timers from plastic bottles. Additionally, students participated in sustainable eating initiatives, Zero Food Wastage Day, Eat More Veggies Day and creating healthy burgers ! These activities aimed to instill a sense of environmental responsibility, emphasizing recycling, up cycling, mindful eating, and reducing waste. A special assembly on Environment Day was conducted based on the theme. Their presentations reinforced the importance of individual actions in contributing to global environmental restoration efforts.
